Sometimes, Less is More

Why hire the “Best” architectural firm for even the smallest design project?

The phrase “less is more” has been quoted for years and for some design projects makes a lot of sense. An example of this would be adding a small addition to an existing structure. Although simple in program, the solution may be more or less expensive because of the executed design. Knowledge of the structures, materials, and concepts is more prevalent in simple structures than we see in large “McMansions”.

An architect’s fee may come back to the owner in value and cost during the construction process.

Just like buying a car new is best, certified used is next, and someone else’s clunker may be in your future. Always seek the best advice available for any major purchases, especially in the construction industry.

Sincerely,

Benjamin P. Butera, A.I.A.
